The next generation of builders starts here

Learn more

STUHI is a community built by high-schoolers, for high-schoolers, bringing together ambitious young builders to turn bold ideas into reality. We’re building a generation that doesn’t just imagine the future, but actually builds it.

Too much young talent in Europe is choosing the safe path, while ambitious ideas never leave the notebook. We want to give teenagers the curiosity, community, mentors, and resources to start building before they’re ready.

Our HQ is now locked in the center of Helsinki, with coworking spaces and a hardware lab for young builders to work and experiment. We’re currently expanding to Tampere, where we’re also opening a new HQ.

MONKS

MONKS is STUHI’s most exclusive program for the most active builders. Members get 24/7 access to the STUHI HQ and receive support for their projects, including food, AI credits and the tools and equipment needed to build and test prototypes.

MONKS can also develop hardware projects at the STUHI lab and request the tools and materials needed to bring their ideas to life. STUHI aims to support members with project-related travel and hackathon participation by covering eligible expenses when possible.

Builders

STUHI Builders get 24/7 access to the STUHI HQ, including our workspace and hardware lab. They also receive a one-month AI subscription to support them in building, testing and developing their projects.

Builders have priority access to mentoring sessions, workshops and other opportunities hosted at the HQ and across the STUHI network. For those who keep building and pushing their projects forward, the Builders Group can also become a path into MONKS, STUHI’s most exclusive program.

Community

The STUHI community is open to everyone who wants to learn, build and connect with others. Members get access to our community channels, where they can stay up to date on upcoming roundtables, events and opportunities across the STUHI network.

Members can also join the STUHI platform, where they can work on real-world problems, build solutions and earn recognition for their work. For those who want to go further, the community can become a path into our Builders Group: a network of young people actively building projects, startups and new ideas.

Ambassadors

STUHI Ambassadors are selected members who represent STUHI in their schools and local communities. They help introduce STUHI to new students, grow the community and bring STUHI’s activities to more schools across Europe.

Ambassadors are also invited to monthly meetups with other Ambassadors, where they can connect, collaborate and take part in activities organized by STUHI.

Meet the team
Do I need to already have a project?

No. You can join with an idea, an early project or simply the desire to start something. We’re here to help, no matter what stage you’re at.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Coding is an extraordinary way to build, but not the only one. Our community is full of people interested in design, science, entrepreneurship, media, hardware and research. You can build in more ways than one.

Does STUHI support projects?

Yes. We support and fund exceptional youth-led projects through advice, connections, practical help and grants.

How do I get involved?

Depends on where you want to get involved. If you’re a builder, you can start by participating in our upcoming events. If your project needs help, contact builders@stuhi.org. If you wish to help out the community, check out volunteering positions and take on a real role helping run the community.

How old do I need to be?

STUHI is focused on high-school and upper-secondary students. The age range we’re targeting is 14–19.

What does it cost?

We’re a nonprofit. We work to make our community and opportunities accessible to young people, so all of our events so far have been completely free. Using the equipment in the hardware lab is also free for members.

What happens at STUHI events?

Depends entirely on the event. Some events have been speaker lectures, while others are hackathons. Every event is designed to help teenagers take a step towards learning something.

Where is STUHI based?

We’re located in Helsinki. Our 24/7 coworking space and hardware lab are both inside the old Helsinki University of Technology building. For access, contact us at builders@stuhi.org.

Who is STUHI for?

STUHI is for 14–19-year-old teenagers who are interested in doing projects or learning the skills required to become successful entrepreneurs.
