HIGH-UP! 2026 · EVENT RULES
High-Up! Code of Conduct
These are the rules for the two days of High-Up!, written so everyone knows where they stand before they arrive. They apply to every person at the event, whatever their role.
This page covers High-Up! alone. For the rest of what STUHI does, read STUHI's association-wide Code of Conduct.
01Our promise
High-Up! should be 100 percent inclusive, safe and inspiring from the first minute to the last, for everyone taking part. That means young participants, mentors, speakers, staff, volunteers and partners alike. We celebrate entrepreneurship together, as equals and with respect.
This Code of Conduct covers every part of the event, any side activities, and any digital spaces connected to it.
02Who this applies to
This Code applies to every person present at the event.
- Young participants
- Mentors, coaches and speakers
- Staff and volunteers
- Partners and guests
Adults at the event carry an extra responsibility. Mentors, staff, volunteers and speakers protect the wellbeing of young participants at all times, and they show by example the behaviour we expect from everyone.
03How we treat each other
We expect four things from everyone at High-Up!.
- Be respectful, welcoming and inclusive, regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, age, religion or background.
- Be encouraging and constructive, especially when a young person shares an early idea.
- Respect personal boundaries and personal space.
- Respect a clear no. If someone asks you to stop or to leave them alone, that is the end of it.
04What is not acceptable
We will not tolerate any of the following.
- Harassment, discrimination, intimidation or bullying in any form.
- Offensive or demeaning comments about any of the personal characteristics listed above.
- Sexual language, imagery or attention. It is never appropriate at any part of the event.
- Inappropriate physical contact of any kind.
- Sustained disruption of talks, workshops or other sessions.
- Encouraging or arguing for any of the above.
05Keeping young participants safe
High-Up! is an event for young people, so every adult present follows these extra rules.
- Never put yourself in a situation where you are alone and unobserved with a young participant. Keep conversations in shared, visible spaces.
- Do not exchange private contact details with a young participant, and do not contact them privately outside the official event channels.
- Report any concern about a young person's safety or wellbeing straight away, in the ways listed in section 06.
- Respect what participants want when it comes to photos and social media, and follow any consent rules the organisers share.
06See something, say something
If something upsetting happens to you, or you see something inappropriate, please report it. You will be taken seriously and treated with respect. Nobody will ask you to confront anyone. You can bring someone with you for support, and if you want to stay anonymous, we will respect that.
How to report
- IN PERSON Talk to the on-site Safety and Security team. They are there for the whole event.
- BY EMAIL Write to team@stuhi.org, during the event or after it.
If someone is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical help, call 112 first.
Young participants, if anything makes you uncomfortable, tell any staff member or the Safety and Security team straight away. You are never in trouble for speaking up.
07Consequences
Anyone who behaves unacceptably may be asked to stop immediately. The organisers may take any action they consider appropriate, up to and including a warning or removal from the event, at their discretion and without refund. Serious matters may be passed on to the relevant authorities.
08Let's build something great
Got it? Perfect. Let's celebrate young entrepreneurs together, safely, equally and with respect.
